Alfa Learning is a math platform for primary and secondary schools. Students work on paper as usual, and the teacher sees where each student stands after every lesson and assignment, so they can step in before a student falls behind.

That’s the problem we want to help teachers solve. To master the more complex ideas in math, a student needs to know the basics. Today, help often arrives only once they have already fallen behind. With a better overview, teachers can help more students, and sooner.

The test shouldn’t be a surprise

Handing out work is easy. Knowing how each student did is not: that would mean collecting dozens of notebooks after every lesson. So the picture often only emerges after the test, when it is harder to help.

In Alfa, a detailed breakdown shows the teacher when a student starts to struggle, and when many find the same concept hard. The teacher can then go over it again in the next lesson before moving on.

Here is an example of a student who is finding a particular concept harder and harder. The overview makes it easier for the teacher to help the student before they are tested on the material.

Teachers stay in control

Everything teachers do today, they can keep doing in Alfa. They choose the material, set it up the way they like and decide which problems go to students. All problems are kept in organized collections, so they are easy to keep track of.

Your old worksheets into Alfa in a minute

Teachers can upload an old worksheet booklet or pages from a book and the problems appear in a sorted collection. That way they have easy access to every problem they want to use and can work with them flexibly. If the school doesn’t have the AI (Alfa) switched on, we add the problems for teachers the same day.

Assignments, class exercises and tests

From the collection, the teacher builds an assignment, class exercise or test, picks the groups and publishes it.

Support for everyone

Students within a class are rarely in the same place. The teacher can give each group its own assignment. Students only see their own assignments, not the grouping.

Different work for different groups

Students who are further ahead get problems that suit them better. Those who have fallen behind get more help to catch up.

GDPR and privacy

We sign a data processing agreement with every school. Student data is stored within the EEA and not used for any other purpose unless the school specifically agrees.

Anonymous students

Students sign in with a code from a card. Alfa stores no student names or email addresses, only numbers. Teachers can type in names, but they are only stored on the teacher’s computer and never reach Alfa.

A safe way to use AI

AI is only active if the school switches it on. Students' work is only read within the EEA, the data is never used to train other companies' models, and the teacher always has the final say.

Frequently asked questions

Does Alfa change how teachers teach?

No, the teaching stays in the teacher’s hands. The teacher chooses the content and students work on paper as before. The difference is that the teacher sees where each student stands after every assignment, and can build the next lesson on it.

How much does Alfa cost?

Alfa Learning is priced per student per year. Book a call or write to us and we will send you a price for your school.

Does it cost anything to try?

No. The trial is free for 30 days, with a real class and no credit card.

Do we need AI to use Alfa?

No. Alfa works fully without AI. Students’ final answers are checked automatically and the teacher sees where things stand after every assignment. With AI, Alfa also reads the work on paper, and teachers import problems from documents themselves.

How do students sign in?

Each student gets a card with a student code from the teacher. No email or password needed.

Does Alfa work on Chromebooks and iPads?

Yes. Alfa Learning works in the browser on Chromebooks, iPads and computers. There is nothing to install.
